Who am I? Manuela Fraenkel, a multi-layered, multi-cultural world citizen who is Scottish-born with part English, German, Italian, Spanish roots. I am also fluent in all these languages. I spent many years living in Germany and South America and extended periods in other countries and never tire of learning! I never stop studying either!

Among other things, for many years I ran a souvenir wholesale business in Scotland - exporting to many countries. I got used to travelling, observing and admiring beautiful places. As a sales person, I loved human contact, so it was a natural progression to become a tour guide! Now I sell Scotland with her many delights! There is nothing I like better than unfolding Scottish mysteries and sharing my vast knowledge of this beautiful land with clients when on tour.

My first real experience as a tour guide was while I was a student. I soon decided to obtain formal qualifications and am now proud to be a fully qualified Blue Badge Guide in the Northumbrian and York Minster areas in addition to my native Scotland. I keep up my professional development by attending courses, like one on Mining in Devon & Cornwall with regard to their status as a World Heritage Site. This area is also beloved particularly of Rosamunde Pilcher fans.

You will get an idea of what I am interested in and what moves me on my [linky here]WhyScotland[end linky]. I am inquisitive by nature and always want to know what is just round the next corner. This ensures that, when on tour, we explore together and might just discover something new and unexpected - I'm still searching for Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster. You never know, maybe together we'll find her!

I have a very patient and loving husband, who, while not a tour guide, is not unknown to come up with his own quirky facts about Scotland.

Manuela with vehicle at Loch Duich, outside Eilean Donan Castle - dogs appreciate the care and attention provided by our friendly guides too! Entrance to Edinburgh Castle Eilean Donan, is a small island in Loch Duich in the western Highlands of Scotland. It is connected to the mainland by footbridge close to Dornie. Loch Ness is a freshwater loch in the highlands of Scotland, famous for being the home of Nessie.
